Inspo for your link in bio! ✨

Blogging Bites #59

Hey Reader!

Before we dive into today's newsletter, I have a little announcement!

📣 I started a new site!

It's going to take a bit of time to build it out, but I have lots of ideas and plans for it! I'll be filling it with even more tips & resources for food bloggers and I'm working on a couple other projects that'll tie in with it 😊

If you have any ideas or things you'd like to see on it, let me know! I want it to be helpful for you at all stages of your blogging journey 🩵

Okay now let's talk about your link in bio!

Are you using a third-party tool for yours? If so, do you want some ideas of how to build one out within your own site?

I've been using this page for my Instagram and TikTok bio links since March.

So far I'm really liking it! It's free and it gets users on my site right away (which has given me a few extra thousand sessions). I also set one up on my new site if you want to check it out!

Today I'm going to show you how I set mine up for @brokenovenbaking to give you a little ✨ inspo ✨ in case you'd like to do the same!

First I created a new page on my blog and named it Social Links (/social). Feel free to call it whatever you like! I also no-indexed the page so it doesn't show up in search engines.

My page is set up as full-width with the H1 hidden. Then I just went in and added various grouped blocks!

  • Profile pic
  • Newsletter signup form
  • Trending recipes
  • Search bar
  • Popular categories
  • CTA button
  • Seasonal recipes
  • Amazon storefront
  • New recipes
  • About me

I also used Mediavine's code to remove in-content ads from this page so social media users have a better experience and hopefully want to browse around my site!

Want to see the backend in more detail? ⬇️

About once a month or so I like to go into Microsoft Clarity and look at the page's heatmap. This lets me see what users are actually interacting with and how I can tweak it to increase engagement.

Also, if you want your IG feed posts to automatically pull into this page, there are plugins for that! I personally haven't used them, but Spotlight Social Feeds and Smash Balloon might be good options.

Here's how other food bloggers have set theirs up for more inspo!

I'd love to see what you come up with if you set one up on your site! Feel free to send yours over or let me know if you have any questions 🤗

Happy blogging!

-Kayla
