Save This Recipe subscribe form using Grow 🌱

Blogging Bites #62

Happy Thursday Reader!

A while ago I showed how I set up a Save This Recipe form in my recipe card using ConvertKit/Fluent Forms/WPRM.

Since then, Mediavine's added a similar feature to Grow!

If you're not sure what Grow is or if you should be using it, check out my latest blog post!

Grow's form gets added to your recipe card.

When a reader fills it out, they'll receive an email linking back to the recipe post, while also getting added to your email list! Win, win πŸ₯³

I personally don't love how the email looks and unfortunately we aren't able to customize it. However, I did share some feedback with Mediavine so I'm hoping they'll edit it or let us customize it in the near future! 🀞

I decided it's still worth using though because Grow's forms can help increase our ad revenue!

When I asked Mediavine about this, they confirmed that Grow's subscribe forms collect consent for personalized ads and first-party data, which increases the reader's value to advertisers.

Their Save This feature is also quick and easy to set up (especially compared to the Fluent Forms option)!

You just have to make a new Link Share form in Grow and then apply it to the Most Valuable Content Subscribe Form.

I go over all of this in my tutorial video!

At the end of the video I also walk through how you can move the form up in the recipe card. You can totally ignore this if you like its default placement below the instructions! (Apologies for the cringe-worthy explanation to anyone who watches that part and knows how to code πŸ˜…)

Oh and you're also able to set the Link Share form as your Spotlight Subscribe form so it shows up within the blog post body as well!

Grow currently integrates with ConvertKit, Mailchimp, and MailerLite. If you connect your email service provider's (ESP) form to Grow's Link Share form, your subscribers should automatically transfer over.

If you're with Flodesk, it looks like they're still working on getting that integrated, but you can still use this feature! You'll just have to manually transfer subscribers from Grow to Flodesk.

That being said, a different plugin should be launching their Save This feature soon, and it looks like it'll integrate with ConvertKit, Mailchimp, MailerLite, and Flodesk! Stay tuned ☺️

I hope you found this helpful πŸ€— let me know if you have questions and what you'd like to see next!

Happy blogging!
