My new productivity tool 💥

Blogging Bites #65

Hey Reader!

I hope you're feeling good this week! I was going to put together a new tutorial for you today but whatever bug's been floating around has been kicking my butt 🤧

So instead of setting up my mic and recording a video from my office, I thought I'd share how I've been planning my days and organizing things as I cuddle my pup on the couch 🥰

Sometimes you just gotta roll with life and rearrange a few things, right?

This is one of many things I love about using Notion - it's easy to move things around on a calendar!

You might've seen me mention this Notion dashboard template a while ago on my Instagram stories. I made it a few months ago and wish I had done it sooner!

If you haven't heard of Notion before, it's a productivity app that makes it super easy to get (and stay) organized. The free version has all you need and you can keep it minimal or build it out with its tons of features.

TBH I didn't really love using it until I realized how powerful and cohesive it is after watching Ali Abdaal's skillshare course (thanks for the rec, Jacqui!).

Now I use this dashboard every day to journal and track to-do's, content, projects, resources, & more! Having everything in one place is SO nice!!

Here are 3 of my favorite dashboard features & how they help me!

1. Daily Homepage

The daily homepage is where I start my day! It includes:

Must & might-do tasks - These are automatically pulled in from the Agenda so I can see what I need to do every day right when I open my dashboard! Breaking them up into musts & mights lets me know what's a priority vs what I can work on if I have extra time or want a change of pace. I can also add tasks here if something comes up last-minute!

I was so excited when I received this feedback from one of the food bloggers testing it out! ⬇️

Daily non-negotiables - These are things that I try to do every single day, like workout, journal, review my mission/goals, etc. I created buttons so I can automatically add journal entries and reset the checklist every day!

Encouragement - I added a spot to jot down my mission & goals so I can remember my why and keep what I'm working towards front of mind!

There's also an inspirational quote for a little extra motivation ✨ a new quote pulls in every time the page refreshes!

Upcoming content - Whatever's on my Content Calendar for the next 7 days will show up in this area so I know what I need to be working on content-wise.

2. Journal Entries

As mentioned above, I can add journal entries directly from the homepage. Then, they'll populate in the Journal page's calendar (although they can be added here too).

I have two journal templates set up for daily and weekly journaling. They're both pre-filled with prompts (which will be included in the template!) so I know exactly what to review every day/week. It's great for tracking progress and reflecting upon where I can improve!

3. SOPs

I'm still building this out, but here's where I house all of my checklists, templates, etc. Having them all in one place makes them super accessible so I can stay consistent & reduce mistakes in all my processes!

The dashboard template will also include a few of my own SOPs ✅

If you want a sneak peek, here's the quick overview that my dashboard template testers got!

I'm currently in the phase of receiving feedback & making it even better 😄

Once it's good to go, I'm going to host a free webinar showing how to use it! It'll also give me the chance to answer any questions you have live & in action!

If this looks like a useful tool for you, you're not going to want to miss it 😉

Happy blogging!

-Kayla
